The newly emerging parking policy has proposed a renewal of activities by City Parking System (MPS - Mestský parkovací system s.r.o.). This company is to take over the towing services of vehicles from local roads under the city’s administration (i.e. class I and II roads) optionally including roads under the administration of city districts (i.e. class III and IV roads) at the beginning of 2021. The city’s responsibility will be to introduce parallel or complementary parking policies for inner courtyards, special purpose roads, parking houses and parking lots, and to monitor, register and enforce the complementary parking policies on the above-mentioned roads. MPS will provide property management services on entrusted and leased properties (parking houses and car parks).

The purpose is to efficiently provide the above activities for the city and the city districts as key partners.

MPS had initially been established by Resolution No. 516/1997 (dated 15 April 1997) of the Bratislava City Council, with the city having a 100% equity interest in it. It was established for the purposes of preparing, implementing and operating a unified parking system in Bratislava, including the preparation and implementation of the construction of mass parking and garage facilities. On 1 November 2014, the company was dissolved and entered into liquidation.
