A new era for Petržalka football

Bratislava, 7 October 2025 – Supporting sports is an important priority for the leadership of the capital city. This is confirmed by the latest major agreement with the Bratislava’s oldest football club, FC Petržalka, which, after several problems with training areas in Petržalka, was able to acquire land from the city for the necessary training of young football talent. Better and cheaper lighting in Bratislava

Bratislava, 2 October 2025 – The capital city continues its comprehensive modernisation and reconstruction of public lighting. The largest replacement of public lighting is currently being carried out in these months in the city districts of Karlova Ves, Petržalka, Rača, Dúbravka and Lamač. The new LED lights mean a significant lowering of the failure rate, as well as a major reduction in electricity costs by more than 40%. Translated into numbers – only counting the lights that have already been replaced in Bratislava or will be replaced this year, the savings can exceed 1 million euros.

Additional investments in the development of cycling in Bratislava

Bratislava, 1 October 2025 – The Mayor of the capital city and the Minister of Transport today jointly announced additional investments in the development of cycling infrastructure in the capital city. Thanks to financing from the Recovery and Resilience Plan, over 9 km of cycling paths have already been added in Bratislava. The Minister of Transport has now signed contracts totalling approximately EUR 1 million for the refinancing of four more cycling projects which were designed and will be built by the capital city. Thanks to this, more than 6 km of new cycling infrastructure will be added to Bratislava and will fit into the comprehensive urban cycle network and connect to existing, frequented cycling paths in the city. This means that the movement of cyclists through Bratislava will once again be made more comfortable and, above all, safer.
