The largest re-use centre in Slovakia expands its collection of used items throughout Bratislava

20.3.2023

The city and the Waste Collection and Disposal company (OLO) are bringing the KOLO collection sites closer to the residents. Throughout April, residents can drop off their items for reuse right in their neighbourhood. So far, this circular economy project has saved Bratislava almost 100 tonnes of potential waste and welcomed more than 50,000 visitors. KOLO is driven by environmental concerns and is steadily expanding its activities.

Collections of still functional items in good condition will take place directly in individual districts of Bratislava from 1 to 29 April 2023. Residents can drop off their items at the collection sites listed in the schedule OLO ↗︎.

Residents can find a list of the things KOLO does/does not accept at KOLO ↗︎. Due to capacity issues, larger pieces of furniture will not be accepted at the collection sites. Large items must be brought direct to the permanent KOLO location. Large and smaller second-hand items can be dropped off at KOLO all the year round. ** More than 50,000 people have already visited KOLO, the largest re-use centre in Slovakia**

OLO and the city are together developing a number of circular projects, KOLO being one of them; this has already been visited by more than 50,000 people from its opening in October 2022 up to the end of February 2023. From the time of the initial concept, residents, the city and OLO have saved Bratislava almost 100 tonnes of potential waste.

KOLO will soon open a repair shop and start collecting preserved electrical appliances

KOLO is all about environmental topics and is constantly developing. The HUB of circular ideas is also a part of KOLO - an awareness and creative centre for people from Bratislava and its surroundings. Through workshops, lectures and meetings, various circular projects are being developed and implemented here.

KOLO's range of activities will soon be expanded to include a repair shop. Visitors can also look forward to spring SWAPs of clothes and plants, as well as workshops for children and various environmental events. The list of things KOLO accepts will soon be extended to include usable and still functional electrical appliances. More information about the collection of electrical appliances will be published by OLO shortly.

KOLO is open from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00 and at weekends from 10:00 to 17:00. KOLO is closed on Mondays and is located right next to OLO at Pestovateľská 13.
