Bratislava is not legally required to publish information in national minority languages. Under Act No. 184/1999 Coll., as amended, this obligation applies only to municipalities where members of a national minority constitute at least 15% of the population and which are included in the list established by a government regulation. Bratislava does not meet these conditions.

Precinct election commissions are not established by the Capital City. Their establishment falls within the competence of the individual boroughs.

Voter cards are not issued for municipal elections. Participation in the elections is linked to the voter's permanent residence.

Yes. Foreign nationals may vote if they have permanent residence in the territory of the Slovak Republic. When voting, they must present either an identity card or a residence permit.

An independent candidate for Mayor or City Council Member must submit at least 1,000 valid signatures from voters with permanent residence in Bratislava.

The list of candidates will be published in accordance with the law within the legally prescribed time limit, no later than 25 days before the election date.

If you are interested in serving on a precinct election commission, please contact the borough in which you have permanent residence.

If you do not have permanent residence in Bratislava, you may contact larger boroughs (for example, Petržalka or Ružinov), where there is typically a greater number of election commissions.
