Description of accessibility of buildings and services in Bratislava for people with various disabilities, families with children and the elderly.
Who assesses accessibility
The properties on this list have been assessed by:
- experts in accessibility and universal design from CEDA (Centre of Design for All) - Research and Training Centre for Accessible Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of STU or
- by lay trained assessors and/or
- by an experienced person with a disability (e.g. wheelchair user)
The process of assessing accessibility
Comprehensive accessibility audit or partial assessment.
A comprehensive audit examines accessibility in terms of movement, sight, hearing, mind. Partial assessment focuses on only some of these aspects.
What is included in the description of accessibility
It contains a list of items sorted according to their purpose.
Each object contains:
- marking of accessibility features with a pictogram
- accessibility status (Yes, Partially, No)
- more details
- photo
The accessibility status is defined by 3 levels:
- Yes means that accessibility is as prescribed or has only small, manageable deficiencies
- Partially means that only some elements are accessible, but assistance is needed to overcome some barriers
- No means the object is inaccessible
How accessibility is marked
Bratislava accessibility pictograms as listed in the description of accessibility and some relevant also at the place where the services are provided (e.g. building, institution's website).
