Who assesses barrier-free accessibility
The listed buildings were assessed by:
- experts in barrier-free accessibility and universal design from CEDA (Centre of Design for All) – Research and Training Centre for Barrier-Free Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Slovak University of Technology or
- trained lay assessors and/or
- an experienced person with a health disability (e.g., in a wheelchair).
How barrier-free accessibility is assessed
A comprehensive accessibility audit or a partial assessment. A comprehensive audit examines accessibility from the perspective of movement, vision, hearing, and the mind. A partial assessment only considers some of the above aspects.
What does the description of barrier-free accessibility contain?
It contains a list of buildings categorised by their purpose.
Each building contains:
- a pictogram indicating elements of barrier-free accessibility,
- the status of barrier-free accessibility (Yes, Partially, No),
- further details,
- a photo.
The barrier-free accessibility status is expressed at 3 levels:
- Yes – barrier-free accessibility is in accordance with the regulations or has only minor surmountable deficiencies. - Partially – only some elements are accessible, but assistance is needed to overcome some obstacles. - No – the building is inaccessible.
