The Senior Council

The Council of Senior Citizens is a permanent advisory body to the Mayor of Bratislava in addressing the issues of the status of senior citizens living in the city, improving their quality of life and ensuring closer cooperation with stakeholders.

The council is composed of active elderly residents from each city district, and it includes a representative of the Association of Social Services Beneficiaries and a representative of the Regional Organisation of the Unity of Pensioners of Slovakia. The council usually meets four times a year.

Lenka Antalová Plavuchová, the Deputy Mayor, is its chairperson, and Daniela Lipková, a representative of the Devínska Nová Ves district who is elected by the council, is its vice-chairperson.

The council is governed by the Statute of the Council of Senior Citizens, and its meetings are closed to the public with the exception of the discussion of matters related to the quality of life of the elderly and of people with disabilities living in Bratislava.
