REPULS Centre for Children and Families
Pursuant to Act No. 305/2005 Coll. on the Social and Legal Protection of Children and Social Guardianship, the REPULS Centre for Children and Families (hereinafter referred to as the “Centre”) is a facility established for the purpose of implementing measures of social and legal protection of children and social guardianship to prevent the emergence, deepening and recurrence of:**
1. crisis situations of a child in a natural family environment or a substitute family environment,
3. disorders of psychological, physical or social development of a child due to problems in the natural family environment, substitute family environment, wider social environment and interpersonal relationships (hereinafter referred to as the “Measures”).
The Centre provides children and their families with professional support and assistance in a residential form.
Purpose of a stay
The purpose of a stay is to practice parenting skills and other skills, to change and maintain relationships between the child and the adult, or to facilitate the implementation of measures in the residential form for the child.
The purpose of a stay at the Centre cannot be solely to solve a housing issue.
Who implements measures at the Centre?
Measures are implemented in the REPULS Centre for Children and Families by a team of professional workers – social workers, psychologists, educators and therapeutic pedagogues.
To whom are measures provided at the Centre?
The Centre implements measures in a residential form for a child based on an agreement between the parent or the person who personally cares for the child.
The Centre admits the child along with his/her parent, the person who personally cares for the child or another close person of the child.
What are the conditions for admission to the Centre?
- Permanent residence of the child/children in the territory of Bratislava.
- Recommendation from the authority of social and legal protection of children and social guardianship for implementing measures at the Centre.
- Completion of an admission interview at the Centre – a prerequisite for the admission of the child and parent is the fulfilment of the purpose for which the Centre was established (see “Purpose of a stay”).

What are the restrictions and barriers to admission to the Centre?
- The child/children must have permanent residence in the territory of Bratislava.
- A serious medical condition requiring nursing care of the child or adult and/or serious psychiatric diagnosis of the child or adult.
- Proven violence against a close and entrusted person by an adult.
What is the payment at the Centre upon admission?
Upon admission to the Centre, a housing fee is paid in accordance with the Generally Binding Regulation of Bratislava, the Capital City of Slovakia No. 3/2019 (see below in the Documents section):
• adult – €1/day • child – €0.70/day
When moving to the Centre, a refundable financial deposit of €50 must be paid
