Cultural Heritage
The Department of Culture maintains and co-operates with the relevant departments of the Magistrate, as well as with the contributory city organisations, to deliver the agenda arising from the Act No. 49/2002 Col. on the Protection of Monuments and Historic Sites as amended.
Expert activities concerning the protection of monuments and historic sites required by the Capital of the Slovak Republic and its boroughs is provided by Municipal Monument Preservation Institute in Bratislava ↗︎ (Mestský ústav ochrany pamiatok v Bratislave), an contributory organisation founded by the city.

National cultural monuments within the territory of the Capital are listed in Central List of National Cultural Monuments ↗︎.
Historic sites
Historic sites are subject of local historic cultural importance and their selection is pursuant to law, in the remit of municipality. The Municipal Monument Preservation Institute in Bratislava (Mestský ústav ochrany pamiatok v Bratislave) keeps a register of historic sites ↗︎ within the territory of the Capita.
