Environmental Studies and Technical Infrastructure

The Department of Environmental Studies and Technical Infrastructure falls under the Department of the Chief Architect of Bratislava, the Capital City of Slovakia, and within its wide range of competence its agenda deals with activities ranging from spatial planning and spatial development, issues of environmental impacts, urban acoustics and noise, as well as flood protection and individual systems of technical infrastructure.

In its activities it must take into account the valid legislation of the Slovak Republic in conjunction with EU legislation, as well as spatial planning documents, but also the needs of the city, city districts and, last but not least, its citizens or organisations.

Finding optimal decisions with such a wide range of aspects and the number of affected entities is among the most challenging tasks of this department.

The scope of the Department of Environmental Studies and Technical Infrastructure is divided into 3 specific areas:

• environmental studies and environmental impact assessment,
• noise and urban acoustics,
• technical infrastructure.
