Bratislava unveils its Economic Dashboard – a unified, data-driven view of the city’s economy, its development and potential

Bratislava, 11 September 2026 – The City of Bratislava is introducing a new Economic Dashboard, bringing together nearly 70 key socio-economic indicators in one place. It offers a single data view of developments in Bratislava’s economy, labour market, business environment, innovation, education, real estate market and tourism, connecting the most important data on the capital’s economy.
The new Economic Dashboard ↗︎ also plays an important role in attracting investment to Slovakia, particularly to Bratislava, and can serve as a practical tool for agencies and consultants working in this field.
Said Bratislava Mayor Matúš Vallo:
"I have long advocated for a data-driven approach to city management. I am convinced that collecting and analysing data is extremely important when making high-quality decisions. This also applies to areas such as new employment opportunities, quality education, affordable housing and prospects for young people, which determine whether young people will choose to build their future in Bratislava. While not everything is directly within the City’s control, I believe it is very important that we are able to offer high-quality data in one place and, through cooperation and dialogue with our partners, use it to support Bratislava’s further growth."
The Economic Dashboard was developed as part of the Economic Development Program through a collaboration between the City of Bratislava and Bloomberg Associates, a philanthropic consultancy that advises cities around the world, and is part of Bloomberg Philanthropies. In addition to supporting better decision-making, it showcases Bratislava's economic strengths and growth potential while creating a shared information base for collaboration between the city and its partners.

Data highlights the strength of Bratislava's economy and its growth potential
The latest data confirms Bratislava's exceptional position within Slovakia and the Central European region. The Bratislava Region generates 28% of Slovakia's GDP, with its share increasing by a further 0.4 percentage points year-on-year.
The region also achieves nominal labour productivity of €76,300 per capita, representing a 5.2% year-on-year increase. Labour productivity in Bratislava exceeds that of several cities with comparable populations, including Tallinn, Kraków, and Brno.

Bratislava also remains an attractive destination for higher education and talent development. More than 8,000 international students study at the city's universities, representing a valuable pipeline of future professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
The city is also home to more than 130,000 highly qualified professionals, underscoring Bratislava’s strong position as a hub for skilled talent and creating favourable conditions for the continued development of a high-value-added economy.
